Oh my goodness, this book is amazing! Lady Agatha is only a girl when she is snatched from her tent, camping in the mountain with her loving father. A Yeti has taken her, and his children and relatives need Agatha's help. They are all in danger of being hunt and killed by horrible and pesky men. This book is so well written, and I love this book. She was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1925. When Hitler came into power, her family moved to England. She attended Bedford College, graduating in 1945; Cambridge University from 1946-47; and the University of Durham, from which she graduated with a diploma in education in 1965. Ibbotson had intended to be a physiologist, but was put off by the amount of animal testing that she would have to do. Instead, she married and raised a family, returning to school to become a teacher in the 1960s. Ibbotson was widowed with three sons and a daughter.
With a parent watching alongside, I think this movie is appropriate for 3+. There are some great messages, and it’s easy to talk your kid through the few intense parts. The movie was really great, I will watch it again for sure. And, as Toby Ibbotson has observed, the yetis – classified as sub-human, persecuted, shipped across Europe in a meat wagon; rescued, traumatised, from the brink of extinction – are Jewish. Some of the great many children who will love this book might, when they are older, hear its deeper soundings. Abominable was released on digital and Movies Anywhere by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment on December 3, 2019, with Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD and DVD releases following on December 17.  All releases included two short films like Show and Tell, an short focusing on Everest showing the Yetis of the human life, animated by Company 3 Animation,  and Marooned, which had previously been screened at the 2019 Annecy International Animated Film Festival and as part of a cross-promotion between DreamWorks Animation and AMC Theatres.  The 4K Ultra HD version additionally uses HDR10+,  making it Universal's second animated film to use the format after The Secret Life of Pets 2 and their sixth film overall.
